The Middle School at Marnebek focuses on individualised and engaging learning experiences and utilises AusVELS, Victorian Essential Learning Standards and ABLES resources for planning and program provision for our students.
There is a strong focus on Literacy, Numeracy, Communication and Social Skills learning and the development of General Learning capabilities.

Marnebek Middle School also provides an accredited and focused life skills curriculum for students which includes the PINICLE and Headway curriculum from the South Pacific Educational Courses. The SPEC Program provides our students with a meaningful learning experience and gives them the opportunity to manage and monitor their own learning. The SPEC Program provides students with the opportunity to engage in learning in a mode and style that is most suited to each individual student. As the program is individualised and student guided, the time frame for completing each task and module is flexible and responsive to our students’ needs and abilities.
Students aged between 12 and 15 engage in the PINICLE Course, which focuses on;
The PINICLE Course provides students with an opportunity to learn and develop life skills in association with academic learning.
The PINICLE Course also has a strong focus on developing and improving Interpersonal skills and has a strong focus on working in teams, group and interactive with other students.
Through the PINICLE Course, students are involved in hands on learning and small group projects.
Students who are 16 and over engage in the Headway Course, modules that are completed include;
The Headway program provides students with meaningful learning and
opportunities to further develop life skills.
Within the Headway program, students are encouraged to engage in sensory exploration and are provided with necessary support to complete each task.
