COVID-19 Updates


Marnebek School has developed this page to keep the school community informed of decisions, updates and advice relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and providing our families with useful information and links in regards to Remote Learning. Updates will be provided as any new information becomes available.

 

COVID-19 UPDATE 18 SEPTEMBER 2020

If you or your family will struggle to get to a testing clinic, you may be able to call and get a test at home: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/call-to-test-covid-19

If you are at risk you must get tested. If you have symptoms, you must get tested.

Getting tested helps protect your family, your friends and your community. It will also help us get to Stage 2 more quickly.

New walk-in pop-up testing stations in Dandenong Market, Noble Park, Hallam and Clyde North are now open:

On Dandenong Market Days a walk-up will be located at: 4-6 McCray St Dandenong - opposite Dandenong Market. Will be open Saturday, Tuesday and Fridays from 9am – 2pm going forward.

COVID-19 UPDATE 21 JULY 2020

 

Face coverings mandatory for Melbourne and Mitchell Shire.

As of Thursday anyone working, attending an education facility, shopping for essential items, or caring for another person, will be required to wear a face-covering or a mask. The following Department of Education guidelines have been provided to Special Schools and directly relate to Marnebek families and students.  

  • Students with a disability are not required to wear a face-covering. This includes students who attend specialist schools.
  • Parents/carers will be required to wear face coverings whenever they leave the house, including for school drop off and pick up. 
  • Teachers and education support staff will not be required to wear face coverings while teaching, but those who wish to do so, can. Teachers should wear face coverings in other areas of the school when not teaching (for example, in the staff room, on yard duty and when providing first aid or taking temperatures), and when traveling to and from school.  Latest Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Update or call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398

  •  
  • Temperature screening will be conducted using non-contact infrared thermometers
  • Students entering the school via the designated  school gates will be tested at the gate area.
  • Late students will be tested in the school foyer area at New Holland drive campus or at the gate at Corrigan’s Rd campus.
  • All bus students will be tested on arrival in the multi – purpose building at New Holland drive campus.
  • Any staff member who is temperature screening will be required to wear a  face mask and use hand sanitiser as per the DET guide. 
  • During screening, we will ensure that there is appropriate physical distancing between adults.
  • Students who register a temperature of 37.5 degrees or over will need to return home.  It is not suitable for an unwell student to travel home unsupervised so parents and caregivers will be called to come and collect them.

 

A reminder: Students experiencing compatible symptoms with coronavirus such as fever, cough, or sore throat, runny nose should be remain at home and seek medical advice.
