Welcome to Learning Neighbourhood 3

Marnebek has done it again! We are extremely proud of all our students here at Learning Neighbourhood three, they have continued to display of core values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility within every facet of 2022.

The Capital Works has been a huge focus at the Corrigan’s Rd campus, and students have eagerly watched the construction from the ground up. To see what stands there now, a complete building, is very exciting. Our students have showed tremendous resilience with noise from trucks, losing sections of play areas and not to mention the constant rain we have had. However, the smiles and enthusiasm never wavered and it’s a credit to how far our students have come this year.

There have been many highlights in 2022 which has allowed us to access the community in more meaningful ways. Year 7/8 and 9/10 students visited ADANAC Camp on separate occasions. Focusing on teamwork and new experiences, our students were able to get out of their comfort zone with fun and exciting activities.

Another highlight this year has been the Friday morning basketball program at Casey Stadium in terms 2-4. Each Friday morning, 40 students compete against 15 schools from the Southern region. We are very proud of each student that represented Marnebek with such pride, in particular team 1 students who won the grand final, congratulations to all!

All students had the opportunity to visit Melbourne Zoo, Gravity Zone on two occasions and Funtopia. Further extracurricular activities included swimming program. Students had lots of fun while learning about water safety.

2022 has seen the implementation of some amazing programs and continued dedication from staff to ensure all students achieve. We entered Pokémon mania during the year with the popular recess and lunchtime program seeing students go out locally around school grounds searching for Pokémon (gotta catch ‘em all) whilst practising their road safety and social skills.

In Term three we implemented our second assembly of the week with a clear focus on explicitly teaching SWPBS with a dedicated value of week and students being named the SWPBS champion of the week.

We are extremely proud of students’ achievements and can’t wait to share what in store for 2023.

Finally, thank you to the wonderful and dedicated staff that supported students through an interrupted year of capital works. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have been a pillar of support for our students.
