Student summary written by Brock Wilford on behalf of 9/10D

This week in 9/10 D, we’ve been learning about Naidoc week (National, Aboriginal, Islanders, Day, Observance, Committee) where all the Aboriginals and Islanders celebrate their freedom. We have all been doing some hands-on activities for Naidoc week like word searches, coloring in the Aboriginal/Islander flag. We all have participated in classroom discussions, our classroom has done somethings around Naidoc week and famous Aboriginal people. We’ve also watched some videos about Naidoc week like, how Naidoc week became a thing and the legal fight they had to go through to get their freedom. It was very inspiring for the class to learn about another culture and do some fun activities for Naidoc week.
