Message from the Principal

Jennifer Hamilton

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to edition 19 of our fortnightly newsletter. It is difficult to believe that this is the final newsletter for the school year. Teem 4 has been very busy and productive with students engaged in classroom activities, camps & excursions and special celebrations.

Construction Update & 2023 Student Placements

The construction program at New Holland Drive and Corrigans Road campuses is progressing. Staff and students who are temporarily relocated at Cranbourne Primary School and Cranbourne West Secondary College will remain there for Term 1 2023 as planned, while the buildings are completed.

We are committed to ensuring the new facilities are ready and safe for both students and staff. The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) will provide further updates on the progress of the new learning buildings at the beginning of Term 1 2023.

You can also expect to receive an update on the next phase of construction (commencing in Term 2 2023) from the VSBA and our builder during Term 1. I would like to thank all of our staff, students and families for your patience and commitment while the construction program continues to build new school facilities to enhance learning and build a brighter future at Marnebek School. I also wish to thank our host neighbour schools for embracing our school community. We are very grateful for your commitment to our school community.

Year 12 Graduation

Last night we formally fare-welled our Year 12 students at the Cranbourne Turf Club in a special and moving graduation ceremony. Today marks their last day here at Marnebek and we wish them all the very best as they transition into the next phase of their life.

Reports

End of Semester Reports will be available on Compass at the end of term 4. If you need assistance in how to access your child’s school report on Compass, you can get guidance here: Viewing Academic Reports

Year 12 Graduation

Yesterday, our 2022 Senior School Students graduated with a beautiful ceremony at the Cranbourne Turf Club. It's an end of an era and marks a big transition to the real world. We are so immensely proud of the wonderful people they have become!

Thank you to our dedicated and passionate staff for guiding these young people through their senior school journey. It was amazing to witness their transformation, some having been with us for their entire 13 years of schooling.

Greetings from 7/8 A

The students in 7/8-A are learning procedural text. They are learning to how to do or make something, with step-by-step instructions or directions. Writing a procedural text is a great way to teach students how to make or do something.

The activities are differentiated according to the lower to higher level students.

The simple word and picture matching activity is great for lower students to consolidate their children's knowledge of following a procedure. The students on higher level will often include many verbs, as well as vocabulary that is specific to the type of subject of the procedure.
