Message from the Principal’s Office

Luke Bennett

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of Term 4 things have not been slowing down for students at Marnebek!

Year 12 Camp

Last week our Year 12 students embarked on a camp at The Summit, a fantastic time was had by all students and will be lasting memory for them all!

2023 Prep Information Evening

On Tuesday, we held our 2023 Prep information evening. It was brilliant to meet the newest members of our parent community and provide an overview of how Marnebek School will support their child as they embark on their school journey.

Attendance – It’s Cool To Be In School

Although we are coming to the end of the school year, the learning does not stop at school. It is vital that students are attending everyday (health permitting) right up until the end of the year. In our weekly assemblies we highlight students who have come to school each day that week. The students are placed on a spinning wheel to win a prize as a reward for 100% attendance. We also have many exciting learning opportunities and excursions coming up over the next few weeks and we want all students to be able to experience these.

Upcoming Events

We have some fantastic school and community events happening over the next few weeks. Staff have been working very hard to ensure students enjoy every moment and we hope to see as many of our community as possible at the below events.

Thursday 8th December - Year 12 Graduation (6pm)

Tuesday 13th December - Statewide Transition Day

Thursday 15th December - Marnebek House Fun Run

                                               Marnebek Twilight Carols Evening (5.00-6.30pm)

Monday 19th December - Last Day of Term 4 for students

Kind regards,
Luke Bennett | Assistant Principal

Let’s Cook Together!!

Students of 7/8 D & E engaged in a Cooking Activity. When we teach our students how to cook, the concept of food changes to them, and instead of perceiving it as a finished product, the students see every ingredient that is used to prepare a meal. Our studnets participated actively: cutting, chopping, grating, mixing and frying were some of the important tasks carried out very well by our students. Each student contributed towards the success of the session. The students enjoyed cooking and eating Chicken Cutlets!

This clinic will be held during school hours to help speed up the process of assessment and prescription. If you would like to know more information or would like to enrol your child, please contact the school physiotherapist, Kristine Bordador via the school number 03 5996 3858 or send an email to Kristine.Bordador@education.vic.gov.au
