Principals’ Address

Our recent Statewide Transition Day was a tremendous success, with students across both campuses embracing the opportunity to meet their new teachers and classmates for 2026. The enthusiasm and positivity were wonderful to see, and it was clear our students felt excited and supported as they stepped into their new settings.

We also recently celebrated outstanding student achievements at the Pauline Richards MP Community Awards. Congratulations to Michael Stent for receiving the Community Spirit Award for mentoring younger students and completing his work experience with GRE8 at the Frankston Community Garden; to our School Captain, Izabela Hovart, who received the Academic Perseverance Award for completing her Hair and Beauty Certificates II and III and obtaining her driver’s licence; and to Brock Carmichael, who received the Healthy Eating and Active Living Award for making the All Abilities Victorian Football Team.

We hosted our final whole-school assembly for the year, which was a fantastic celebration of student success and our broader school community. Representatives from Click Against Hate joined us to formally recognise Marnebek as an Ambassador School, acknowledging our ongoing commitment to promoting safe, positive and respectful behaviour through our Grade 6 to Year 12 program. We were also pleased to welcome Cassandra Fernando MP, who attended to present the Holt Awards. Congratulations to our two recipients: Steven Seiha, recognised for the outstanding support he provides to his peers, and Maria Kurr, acknowledged for her academic success.

Year 12 Graduation was a wonderful and meaningful celebration. It was a privilege to acknowledge our graduates’ hard work and share in this milestone with their families. The student speeches were a highlight, filled with gratitude, humour and reflection. One student shared that when he first arrived at Marnebek, he made his very first friend, reminding us of the powerful relationships and sense of belonging that make our school so special.

Our End of Year Concert was also our best yet, with students performing brilliantly. We are incredibly proud of their talent and confidence on stage. A huge thanks to all the staff that made this possible.

Looking ahead, I am very much looking forward to next week’s Grade 6 Graduation, which I am sure will be another memorable and uplifting celebration for students, families and staff.

Have a well-deserved break and we can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.

Grade 1 Equal Sharing Unit & Inflatable World Excursion

Our Grade 1 students have had an exciting and engaging few weeks as they explored the concept of equal sharing in Mathematics. Through hands-on activities, group tasks and real-life examples. Students practised dividing objects and quantities into equal parts. They worked collaboratively, built their confidence and demonstrated fantastic problem-solving skills as they developed a deeper understanding of fairness and sharing.

To celebrate their hard work, students enjoyed a fun-filled excursion to Inflatable World. The day was full of energy, laughter and active play as our Grade 1s explored the giant inflatables, obstacle courses, slides and jumping zones. The excursion provided the perfect opportunity for students to build teamwork, resilience and social skills while having an unforgettable time with their classmates.
