Message from the Principal’s Office

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we reach the end of week eight of term, I am pleased to share some fantastic highlights and important reminders from across the school.

Year 7 Camp Success at Philip Island
Our Year 7 students recently enjoyed an incredible camp at Philip Island. Despite the cold weather, students took part in lots of activities, with surfing being a big hit! The camp was a huge success, thanks to all staff who attended and a big well done to the students.

Year 2 Swimming Program
Our Year 2 students completed their swimming lessons last week. Students increased confidence and skills in the water, practised transition to and from the pool and learnt very important life skills.

St Kilda FC Clinics
Football fever is alive and well at New Holland Drive! The St Kilda FC clinics have been a big hit with students, who are loving the opportunity to develop their skills and learn from the coaches every Wednesday.

Dental Program

Last week, we were pleased to welcome the Childsmile Dental Program to our students across both campuses. The program plays a crucial role in helping our students understand the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and gums, which contributes to their overall wellbeing.

Student Support Group (SSG) Meetings – Monday 16th June

A quick reminder that our SSG meetings are on Monday. Please be sure to book a time to meet with your child’s teacher via Compass. As per previous terms, on this day, students only attend school for their scheduled meeting time.

News from New Holland Drive Campus

The preps have been busy!!

🌊 Prep Swimming Success! 🏊‍♀️
Our Prep students have officially completed their swimming lessons—and what a fantastic effort they’ve made! Over the program, they built confidence in the water, learned important safety skills, and had plenty of fun along the way. We’re so proud of how each student gave their best and grew stronger with every session.

🏉 A Visit from St Kilda Football Club! 🔴⚫
We were treated to a special AFL clinic thanks to a visit from the St Kilda Football Club, they ran fun, engaging activities that introduced basic footy skills like kicking, handballing, and teamwork. It was an exciting opportunity for our students to get active, try something new, and enjoy learning through play.

What a fun and active week for our amazing Preps!

Performing Arts – A Joyful Start to the Year

This semester in Performing Arts, students across the school have been exploring the joy of dance and movement. Through fun, creative activities, they’ve learned how to use their bodies to express ideas, emotions, and stories.

From dancing to nursery rhymes and animal songs to moving along with music from different cultures, students have developed confidence and creativity. Props like scarves, capes, and streamers added colour and excitement, helping bring their movements to life.

Students enjoyed taking on the roles of both performer and audience—sharing their dances with classmates, working together, and learning how to watch and respond to each other’s performances with respect.

It has been wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, imagination, and teamwork in every class. I’m proud of the students’ efforts and look forward to more movement, music, and creativity in Semester Two!

We’d like to remind our school community that NDIS Support Services are available to assist parents and carers. If you have any questions about the NDIS or need help accessing support, our friendly NDIS Navigators are here to help. We’re available Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm at both campuses.
