Message from the Principal’s Office

 Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to our fortnightly newsletter, I am delighted to share some of the recent learning opportunities for students and community engagement activities.

Year 3 Swimming Lessons

Last week, our Year 3 students participated in their swimming lessons, and what an incredible experience it was! Students demonstrated impressive progress in their swimming skills, building confidence and teamwork in the process. A big thank you to our dedicated staff for making this program a success.

Mother's Day Stall: Celebrating the Special Women in Our Community

Our Mother's Day stall at both campuses was a great success. Students had the opportunity to select gifts for the special women in their lives, expressing their appreciation for everything they do. We hope all the mothers and mother figures had a lovely day last Sunday.

Koorie Students Explore Cranbourne Botanical Gardens

On Monday, our Koorie students embarked on a small excursion to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens. This enriching experience allowed students to connect with nature and learn about the cultural significance of plants and the environment. It was a day of discovery and connection to the land.

Education Support (ES) Day

Today, we celebrated Education Support (ES) Staff Day, honouring the invaluable contributions of our ES staff. Our ES staff are the heartbeat of our school, providing essential support to both students and teachers. To express our gratitude, staff and students collaborated on a video which was played in our assembly.

Professional Practice Day on Monday

A reminder to parent/carers that there is no school for students this coming Monday 19th May. This is a professional practice day for staff where they will be upskilling in a variety of professional development areas. We will see all students on Tuesday 20th May.

Have a brilliant weekend.

Regards

Luke Bennett

Campus Principal (Primary School)

News from New Holland Drive Campus

 Grade 6 on camp!!

Wow! What an adventure the grade 6 students had as they embarked on a 3 day, 2 nights camp to Blackwood. There were so many fun activities to do whilst on the camp. They included night archery, camp cooking, a night bonfire, where students got to toast marshmallows, and a bush walk through the beautiful Blackwood Forest. Students also had the opportunity to pan for gold in the chilly river water running through the forest. Student modelled the School Values whilst on the camp and demonstrate Resilience, especially the bravery they showed whilst climbing the high ropes. Not to worry, they were all in the highly experienced hands of the Blackwood staff. A big think you to all the staff that also embarked on this awesome adventure! You all Rock!

News from our Specialists

Celebrating with Creativity and Care from Our Food Tech Students

This Mother’s Day, our Food Technology classes at Marnebek have been hard at work preparing a delicious spread to celebrate the amazing mothers and carers in our school community.

Students have planned, prepared, and presented a beautiful selection of treats as part of their hands-on learning in the kitchen. This event is a fantastic way for students to showcase the practical skills they’ve been developing in class—including food safety, presentation, teamwork, and hospitality.

Here’s what’s on the menu:

🍓 Fresh fruit kebabs
🍰 Classic scones with jam and cream
🥪 Tasty club sandwiches
🥪 Delicate ribbon sandwiches
🥐 Buttery croissant sandwiches

We are so proud of the effort, care, and creativity our students have put into this event. It’s a true reflection of what they’ve learned in Food Tech—turning classroom lessons into a real celebration for our community.
