Message from the Principal’s Office
Dear Marnebek Community,
What an amazing fortnight we’ve had across our campuses! It has been full of creativity, connection, and community spirit, a true reflection of what makes Marnebek such a special place to learn and grow.
One of the standout moments was our Art Show, which was incredibly well-received by students, staff, and families alike. It was heartwarming to see so many families take the opportunity to view their child’s artwork on display. The vibrant showcase was made even more special by fantastic live performances from our talented staff, all enjoyed alongside a sausage or two from the BBQ and a coffee by our resident barista, Lorenzo!
Another exciting event was the Senior School’s first Gala Day. Students engaged in a range of elective-style experiences including Music, Art, Hospitality, and STEM activities. It was a celebration of choice, creativity, and collaboration, and a great example of how we’re continuing to build engaging learning opportunities that spark curiosity and joy.
I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of Road Safety, particularly at our New Holland Drive campus. Thank you to all the families and community members who have supported our recent changes, including new signage, line markings, and the use of the roundabout at the end of the street to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow. Your cooperation plays a vital role in keeping our students safe.
As we head into the colder months and the rain begins to settle in, our maintenance team is working hard to keep our ovals and play areas as mud-free as possible. Despite their best efforts, there may be times when curious students find their way into these muddy zones! We’ll always do our best to ensure they return home dry and clean at the end of the day. However, if your child regularly enjoys these outdoor spaces, feel free to pack a change of clothes in their school bag, and we highly recommend gumboots as a handy addition while the wetter weather continues.
Thank you once again for your continued support. We look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon.
Warm regards,
Chris Murray
Principal – Marnebek School

News from New Holland Drive Campus
Have a look at Grade 1!
Our Grade 1 students have had an exciting and hands-on 2 weeks of learning at Marnebek! In Mathematics, they have been exploring the concept of measurement, using real-life objects to compare length and height. Through practical activities like measuring classroom items and working together in small groups, students have been building their understanding in a fun and interactive way.
This week’s SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) focus was on the important skill of asking for help. Learning to ask for help is a key part of developing independence, confidence, and positive communication in the classroom.
To complement their learning, the Grade 1s also enjoyed plenty of time engaging in sensory play. This included activities like playdough, water play, and shaving cream, which support sensory development, emotional regulation, and creativity. It’s been a fantastic week of discovery, teamwork, and skill-building for our young learners!

News from our Specialists
Art showcase
Art plays a special role at Marnebek, offering students a space to express themselves, build confidence, and explore a wide range of creative techniques and materials. From painting and drawing to sculpture, our students have been busy creating meaningful and imaginative pieces throughout the term.
To celebrate their hard work, we recently held our Art Showcase, inviting parents, carers, and students to experience the incredible talent and creativity within our school. The showcase was filled with colour, excitement, and pride, as each piece told a unique story and reflected the individuality of our students.
It was a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community and recognise the value of creativity in learning. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our amazing young artists!
