YEAR 9/10
In years 9 and 10 all of our classes have a pathways focus and align to one of 4 specific pathways listed below. Our students have the opportunity to select their preferred class giving them the opportunity to explore chosen pathways to prepare them for further education, training and work experience opportunities in year 11 and 12.
The 4 pathways classes are aligned to include:
Sport and Recreation / Outdoor Education
Students develop fitness, teamwork, and leadership through individual and team sports. The program emphasises active lifestyles, safety, and event organisation, culminating in weekly community-based field days that build confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
Hospitality
Students gain hands-on cooking and food preparation experience, guided by an external trainer during a field day at New Holland Drive Campus. The focus is on practical culinary skills, kitchen safety, and confidence in food presentation, offering insight into hospitality and catering pathways.
ASDAN
This program promotes independence, confidence, and life skills through practical, goal-focused learning. Students strengthen communication, literacy, numeracy, and teamwork, with opportunities for community engagement and real-world application of skills.
Digital Technology
Students engage in creative, technology-based projects involving 3D printing, drones, and virtual reality. Field days include workshops at Casey Tech, where students develop digital literacy, innovation, and STEM skills for future tech-related careers.
Horticulture Work experience Opportunity
In addition to Hospitality, Students in year 9 and 10 also have the opportunity to engage in work experience opportunities in Horticulture as an additional activity.
Throughout the horticulture work experience, students will attend Seaford Community Garden on a weekly basis to explore gardening, landscaping, and sustainable practices through hands-on learning. They will develop teamwork and environmental awareness while maintaining garden areas and gain valuable work-related skills.
