Principals’ Address

It has been a fantastic start to Term 4, with students engaged, settled, and ready for a strong finish to the year. This term is always a special one, and we are particularly looking forward to key celebrations such as the graduation ceremonies for our Grade 6 and Year 12 students, as well as our much-anticipated Christmas Concert.

Over the past week, there have been several highlights across our school. The Marnebek Street Stalls were a huge success and a wonderful celebration of student learning and enterprise. The event was the culmination of weeks of planning, creativity, and teamwork, as students designed, created, and ran their own stalls. A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Together, we raised over $3,000, which will go directly towards enhancing student resources.

We also came together to celebrate Diwali at a very special assembly. The colour, dance, and smiling faces made it a joyful and memorable event and one of our best assemblies yet.

Finally, it has been great to see students across both campuses taking part in visits to the Dental Van. This is a wonderful initiative that promotes oral hygiene and supports the overall health and wellbeing of our students.

Thank you to our staff, families, and community for your ongoing support. Term 4 promises to be filled with celebration, achievement, and connection, and we look forward to sharing these moments with you all.

STREET STALLS 2025

Our 2025 Street Stalls were a huge success! The atmosphere was full of excitement as students proudly showcased their creations, sold delicious treats and demonstrated the enterprise skills they’ve been developing throughout the year. It was wonderful to see so many families, staff and community members come along to support our students and celebrate their hard work.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special, from those who donated, set up stalls and of course to our incredible students for their creativity and enthusiasm. 💛

News from New Holland Drive

The Year 7 students have had an excellent start to Term 4, demonstrating the school values both in and out of the classroom. This term, students have been busy developing their very first Market Stalls, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. From designing and making bracelets, to whipping up delicious Frog in a Pond dessert, and setting up gaming stations with the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for the Gaming Club – the stalls were a huge success!

In the classroom, students have been extending their learning through creative writing activities, using picture prompts and checklists to support self-evaluation and reflection. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and independence grow as they prepare for their exciting transition to Corrigan’s Road.

They have also been earning SWPBS points and through showing positives behaviours at school, many of the Year 7 students have been given the opportunity to attend Myuna Farm. Keep up the great work and continue to show our school values.

The Year 7 staff are very proud to see the growth in all students and wish them the best in their future journey.

Music

Music

Halloween Celebrations have dominated the music learning space during Term 4- each class having digitally made their own scary Halloween song which was played over the school speaker system during Halloween week. Students have also been learning drum routines, multiple keyboard parts (chords and melodies) and karaoke parts for the Ghostbusters theme song. Students are also busily working on Ukulele and Christmas song routines for the end of year celebration concert. In addition to this Marnebek has a new Choir (called the Glamour Girls) and a Percussion Ensemble- so stay tuned for future performances from both groups.
